Master Grade MS-06F Zaku II High mobility prototype

Photos and Model by: Arvin Lim

This is the MG Zaku II made up to look like the Zaku F2 used by the feds in stardust memory. I have watched stardust memories several times over, before doing this model, which explains why I adopted the color scheme from the feddy Zaku F2.

I tried to make it look like the Zaku F2 but ended up coming short on parts, so I just went for a customized high mobility desert type. Main modifications to the Zaku were the addition of extra armor parts on the forehead, crotch and right shoulder, that came from the MG detail up parts and some panels from AFV military kits, a rolled up canvass and some handles attached to the shield, rivets on the skirt armor and knees, extra boosters in the legs and the backpack, and a little modification on the lower torso armor to allow greater mobility of the skirt armors and the thighs. The gattling cannon came from a cheap military figure. (coolgun complete with belt type ammo neh?)

The paintjob for the external armor is a custom desert scheme mix, I used a customized tan/khaki color scheme mixed from some of my leftover paints. I didn't leave any surface unpainted and went through painting the internal mechanisms of the cockpit, shoulder and foot pistons, and the backpack. I also painted the insides of the armor to give that really realistic feel.

Finally the weathering was done using dry brushed silver and black chalk pastel, and a coat of Mr. Super clear flat was sprayed on to even out the paint.
